Of course, just cause you’re on a trip doesn’t mean that your essential needs don’t need to be met anymore. Along with food and water, you also need to take care of your lodging throughout whatever thing or event you decided to embark upon. So, let’s say you travel on your modest, yet sleek and cozy Jeep Wrangler.
You decide that since there aren’t any nearby available lodgings, or better yet you are camping, you decide to turn in for the night in your sweet ride.
Almost about to be lulled to sleep, you suddenly remember about that one news article, where some person died while sleeping inside their vehicle…
So you jolt up, and fiddle with your phone, looking up “Is sleeping in a 2 door Jeep Wrangler safe?” That’s how we ended up here, you looking up your totally valid concern on the internet and ending up reading this article! So to answer that question, here we are…
Is Sleeping In A 2 Door Jeep Wrangler Safe?
Yes, it is absolutely safe! There are certain conditions that need to be met for sleeping in a 2 door Jeep Wrangler to be dangerous, which fortunately for you, are things that you can actually very easily make sure are not hit on that list of conditions.
Even then, some of those conditions in that metaphorical list of things to do before sleeping in a 2 door Jeep Wrangler are not exactly dangerous in some cases. Truly, a very specific problem that is very much unlikely to happen. So, you might actually be curious now, what those conditions are, so here’s a small list of conditions!
Conditions That Make Sleeping In A 2 Door Jeep Wrangler Dangerous!
Here’s the conditions that you should overall take caution in not meeting, in order to not die a horrible death while sleeping in a 2 door Jeep Wrangler!
- Do Not Leave Your Vehicle’s Engine Running.
- Do Not Leave Your Vehicle Parked In An Enclosed Area.
- Do Not Leave Your Vehicle Like That For More Than A Minute.
That’s it! I hyped those conditions like crazy, but these are the three things that you must absolutely not meet at the same time, otherwise, you die!
What Exactly Makes These Conditions Dangerous?
Well, these conditions aren’t exactly dangerous per se on their own, but it’s when they are combined that it gets very dangerous for humans, especially those sleeping in 2 door Jeep wranglers. You might be wondering why, and that’s why we are here to talk about it.
Do Not Leave Your Vehicle’s Engine Running. By itself, again, not at all dangerous to the human person, maybe to your human pockets if you aren’t swimming in money cause gas prices, amirite?
Do Not Leave Your Vehicle Parked In An Enclosed Area. Also not dangerous by itself, so you won’t have to worry about dying a horrible death when sleeping in a 2 door Jeep Wrangler.
But! I must have you know, the reason things get dangerous when these two conditions are met is because, if you did not know, the exhaust pipe of your vehicle vents out carbon monoxide. It is simply a byproduct of your vehicle consuming fuel to keep going.
So, I don’t want to assume anything, but you might ask, what does that mean for you, a person that knows absolutely nothing about that? Well, I must inform you that carbon monoxide is basically toxic fumes.
Inhale enough of it and your body will suffer what is called ‘carbon monoxide poisoning’. What’s worse is that even though you might actually already be inhaling it, you won’t notice at all because carbon monoxide is odorless, and also colorless!
Like, these fumes are so dangerous in fact, that if you were to say leave your car engine running inside a garage with the garage door open, the toxic fumes will still build up within that garage and also still likely poison you!
Do Not Leave Your Vehicle Like That For More Than A Minute. On the absolute off-chance that you must still have it like that, you must not exceed anything above a minute. That is because carbon monoxide levels actually build up so fast and can rise to dangerous levels in only one to two minutes!
So What Does It Mean For You Sleeping In A 2 Door Jeep Wrangler For Camping Purposes?
As long as you haven’t met the conditions stated above, you are completely safe! However, I still have to warn you, however unlike it may be for this to happen while camping outside. Absolutely, DO NOT DO THIS WITH YOUR JEEP WRANGLERS.
I assume I don’t have to explain why? Huge tarp securing a room of sorts between two pick-up trucks, with the two exhaust pipes also in it. If you leave the engine running, the exhaust pipe will start pumping carbon monoxide in that room of yours and kill you in mere minutes without medical help!
If you want to camp outside and live your dreams of sleeping in a 2 door Jeep Wrangler, then be my guest! But you better keep those three conditions in mind always! Otherwise, I won’t have anyone else reading my articles, and we both don’t want that, do we? :<
