It certainly has an interesting appearance, you might even get a feeling of deja-vu in seeing this car. This is because it is kind of the secret lovechild between an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) and a standard pick-up truck. Both combining to form what is known as a Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV).

Yamaha Rhino 700’s Appealing Features

Now, not only does it have that cool and quirky appearance, but it also has many features that certainly and deservingly puts the ‘Rhino’ in the Yamaha Rhino 700. The ‘Rhino’ in its name isn’t simply just for show, or something that creates the vehicle’s appeal. And it definitely represents the UTV type of vehicles quite well with its other utilities. Here are most of the Yamaha Rhino 700’s features that I most certainly think will help you judge for yourself!

The Engine’s Design and Strength

As a Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV), it must certainly have the appropriate strength in its engine. With the all-new 686cc engine, the Yamaha Rhino 700 is more than capable of outputting plenty of broadband power. As well as having new four-valve heads with 9.2:1 compression, along with forged piston bumps, you most assuredly will have both power and efficiency.

To elaborate even further, while the generation before the Yamaha Rhino 700 had its old engine compose of 660ccs, don’t get me wrong that it definitely served well for its time, but as they say, out with the old, in with the new! The Yamaha Rhino 700’s new engine is now a 4-stroke single cylinder with a single overhead cam design, even featured with liquid cooling along with an on-demand fan!

Raptor 700

For the people that are fans of the Raptor series, the top end of the engine might be familiar to you. This is because the top end of the engine itself has been taken from the awesome Raptor 700. For the uninitiated, you might ask what makes it so great? Well, what makes the top end of the Raptor 700 work so well with the Yamaha Rhino 700, is the presence of a roller rocker arm system that reduces drive train friction while still letting the engine have more revving freedom.

To make things short so this article doesn’t end up totally fangirling over the engine’s new features, here’s a more compact list:

  • The forged piston bumps are strengthened by the vehicle’s own specially coated aluminum cylinder.
  • It has a slightly heavier crank giving it more oomph at each end of the connecting rod, which admittedly is there to compensate for the added loads required off a Utility Terrain Vehicle.
  • With the addition of the heavier crank, it has also introduced a reduction in the steering’s vibration as well as the the vibration of the vehicle in general.
  • It also exhibits a new electronic fuel injection system, for that crisp throttle response throughout the power band!
  • It has also been given a larger radiator to help with cooling.
  • In essence, the engine’s just all around better!

The Cool, Off-Road, and Ever-Ready Exterior

I wasn’t joking when I said the article was in danger of fangirling about the Yamaha Rhino 700’s engine. So, now that I have pretty much bedazzled you on the engine’s features, let’s move on to the Yamaha Rhino 700’s exterior features!

  • It has tough, rotomolded doors made to specially keep mud, water, dirt and all kinds of other grimy substances outside the vehicle where they belong!
  • It has better four-wheel disc brakes guaranteed for that supreme stopping power, along with a new parking brake!
  • It has new easy-clip underhood air filters for that crisp, clean air ventilation for your engine’s exhaust.
  • It also has stainless steel exhaust, strengthened and made even more flexible by spherical joints!
  • It has even bigger CV joints and axles for better suspension support and weight compensation.

The Comfy, Clean, and Safe Interior

This is quite obviously the spot where you will be spending most of your time with your beloved Yamaha Rhino 700. Which is why I am happy to inform you that the interior itself is very much filled with features that maximize comfort, security and fun all in one vehicle.

For those with sensitive hands like myself, having a cool, comfortable and new steering wheel with passenger grab handles allows for more comfortable steering and gripping. Which is why I’m happy to tell you that the Yamaha Rhino 700 has exactly this feature!

Another great interior feature is the addition of a heavier-duty seat along with the bed supporting up to 400 lb. Allowing for smooth, comfort riding at most, if not all weight levels!

As an extra detail, I’ll have you know that all Yamaha Rhino models starting from 2007+ will come equipped with a digital dashboard and fuel gauge. So you won’t have to worry about tacky mechanical dashboards.

And finally, one of, if not the best feature of the Yamaha Rhino 700’s interior might come as a shock to you. So I advise holding on to your seats and prepare yourself for this technological innovation. The Yamaha Rhino 700 has a built-in dual cup holder for the absolute best creature comfort in the market!

Conclusion

If you want a cool, and comfortable vehicle that can take a beating while also thriving with workload, then the Yamaha Rhino 700 is most definitely for you! The limitation of having only two seats might deter you, but keep in mind that there’s bountiful space in the car’s backside. It’s the combination of an All-Terrain Vehicle and a standard pick-up truck, so the Rhino’s bed definitely puts the pick-up truck in the equation.
